As you may know by now, I am a convert to being a Game of Thrones fan and what a climax to the seventh season that was the other night. Yes, I am now all caught up on everything Game of Thrones and I am now an avid fan. As I mentioned in my previous post, I now want to go and visit where the show is filmed (in places) in Northern Ireland. I have made it a place on my bucket list of places I need to visit.
Anyway, shall we take a look at what else I have been watching in the last month? Well, actually not that much else to be fair. Let’s start with Movies…
So just to note, from now on the above-mentioned movies and the mentioned TV Shows going forward are calculated by time spent as opposed to the number of plays, as we all know it’s screen time that actually makes the difference and not how many plays they have had.
With this being said, longer films are of course going to be at the forefront here but if a film of shorter time has been played more than once that time will double, so it does make sense. This month I watched “Titanic” the most (the film clocks in at 3 hours, 14 minutes!) and followed by the Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman drama “Far and Away”. “Miss Congeniality” and it’s sequel have also been watched this month, I wanted to watch the films again after it being such a long time since I last saw them, the original is a classic, whatever the critics may say. I have also gone back to “Power Rangers”, it’s a great film and it was great to re-watch it and seek out bits I had missed last time. I also got round to watching the new reboot of “The Mummy” after being a fan of the original trilogy of movies, I wasn’t so impressed with this new version though.
Overall, not a great month for movies for me, having only watched a total of 24 movies in August.
No surprise here really, I am absolutely in love with “Game of Thrones” and I consider myself to be a super fan now. I have even watched episodes again, just because I wanted to see if there was anything I missed. I watched the 6th episode of Season 7 a total of 3 times (“Beyond The Wall”) as the epic fight at the end was absolutely amazing to watch. The season finished on 7 episodes this time around but my goodness, what a finale that was! I am super excited for Season 8 whenever it comes back, although it is rumoured that this may not be until 2019!
I have also been watching “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” again after so long, I remember loving the show as a kid but by like the 3rd season I had drifted off and not watched anymore. I am trying to change that this time around. I have also been watching some brilliant BBC Drama shows in the form of “In The Dark” and “Man In An Orange Shirt”, the latter being a fantastic wartime set story about two men who fall in love but yet are outcasts in their world.
I have also been loving the brand new Apple Music TV Show – Carpool Karaoke. The show is obviously based on the hugely successful James Corden’s version on YouTube, but this one features more celebrities and more music and I love that it easily links with Apple Music so that you are able to listen to the music featured yourself, after the show has ended. It’s all very clever!
Next month brings along the new series of “American Horror Story”, which I am a huge fan of, as well as a brand new season of the comeback show “Will & Grace”. Now that “Game of Thrones” has ended I will now be looking to fill that hole, I am excited to watch the Netflix adaption of Stephen King’s “The Mist” and I may actually start watching that tonight, it’s a new month after all!
