Hey everyone, so it’s been a long time since I posted a blog about what was happening in my life, but here goes.
It has been a fantastic couple of weeks here in the UK, what with the lovely weather we have been having and such. I have been making the most of the weather by going down to my local outside swimming pool a lot and going swimming as well as sunbathing, it’s like being on holiday but back at home. I got completely sunburnt one day though when I must have been out in the sun too long, it has all faded to a lovely brown colour now though, not that I recommend you go and get yourself burnt to achieve this. I have never seen my arms and face as dark as they are now, I am hoping that we will get some more nice weather soon (the gloomy days are here at the moment).
Whilst at the gym I also took part in 3 personal training taster sessions which I briefly talked about in my previous blog, I have loved having these as in those sessions I already know what I need to be doing to get my healthy eating back on track and now I have a completely different routine whenever I head to the gym. I now use the TRX machine a lot more than I have ever done previously, where the possibilities are endless! I try and keep to a routine of 40 minutes cardio and 20 minutes resistance, followed by a dip in the pool (which I find relaxing). I have noticed definition change in my arms and neck especially, but I am not weighing myself yet as I get carried away by weight loss changes and at the moment I just want to focus on making this my routine and then eventually I will check my weight too. The thing you have to remember is that weight fluctuates all of the time, and I used to feel defeated whenever I saw the scales go up, not realising that this is probably only a temporary thing. I have also been doing a lot of cycling recently and I have changed from RunKeeper to Strava to keep logs on my rides and it provides me with so many more statistics that makes the nerd in me feel fabulous!
Talking of fabulous, last Saturday I travelled to London again for two different events. The first was for London Pride 2017 and in particular, the parade which travelled down BBC Broadcasting House on Regent Street and travelled down to Trafalgar Square. The event was fantastic and it was so lovely to see so many people be happy and proud of who they are, and it opened my eyes to the big spectrum of different people out there as well, we are all unique in our own little ways and we should all embrace that and not try and conform to the norm. What is normal anyway? I saw some celebrities there too including Duncan James, Tom Daley, Jodie Harsh and some guys from The Only Way Is Essex. I also saw a load of my old friends too and it was great to reconnect with some of them after a long time, if there was one thing I learnt that day it was to not neglect people or friends and try to keep in contact with as many people as you can. You can watch the vlog from this event below:
From London Pride it was time to head to Hyde Park for the BST Hyde Park 2017 event, with The Killers headlining this time around. I went back in 2015 and it was a great experience but this time around I got there late due to Pride, but I still got there in time to see Elbow and The Killers perform and they were the main acts that day after all. I think the standout for me came from Elbow and not The Killers when everybody in the audience was singing “One Day Like This” at the top of our lungs, it was a truly emotional moment if you ask me. It was great to see The Killers live too, I saw them briefly back in 2013 when they were at the MTV EMAs in Amsterdam but it was great to be there for a full concert this time around and they have a great selection of hits, I have been listening to a load of their songs recently. So that’s it really, an update for you. There have been a couple of other things I have done recently including cycling around Epping Forest in West Essex and having a paddle in the man-made pools at Cassiobury Park with Amy and her daughter, that was a sweet moment. I can honestly say that so far this has been the best summer of my life and I am loving every minute, and I think it’s mainly because I have wanted to embrace so many different things this time around, trying to get out and about as much as possible. There are still so many things planned, especially in August and one day soon I will definitely be heading down to the New Forest in Hampshire to do some more cycling trails.
I hope you are all having a lovely summer and don’t forget to click back for more soon!
