2015: A Predictive

Good morning everybody! How are your heads this morning? Mine will be fine, I say will as I have written this blog in advance of the big 2015 and I know that I will be working all the way through New Years Eve.

Out with the old and in with the new right? Yes, too right! It is time to celebrate a brand new year where the whole slate is wiped clean and you press refresh on your life.

So, 2015 is upon us. What can we expect? What are your resolutions? Maybe it is not to drink too much haha. It is also the year that Marty McFly travelled to 30 years in to the future in Back To The Future II. Are we really to expect hover-boards to be commercially available this year? Well, OK, the answer to that question is sadly no but we are living in the future now and every step that we take or anything that we do is creating history. Scary, right?

Anyway, getting sidelined a bit here. The main purpose of this blog is to present to you some of my plans for 2015 as well as some of the music that I expect to be listening to throughout 2015.

The first big thing to talk about is my trip to New York next month. I really am excited to go and visit the Big Apple for the second time in my life. It really is a fabulous city and such a sight to behold. I hope that we can visit many places when we are out there and perhaps see a show on Broadway, that really would be a dream come true. I, of course, will be taking many photos and videos when I am out there and perhaps my first VLOG? You will have to remain firmly posted.

I have already got a few concerts booked in for 2015. I am going to see Gorgon City next month, Nicki Minaj in March, Take That in June and Atomic Kitten (cough) in June also. It is also very highly likely that Madonna will be announcing another tour for this year and so as soon as she does I will do everything in my power to be right at the front for tickets. I have yet to see Madonna (my ultimate legend) live and now is the perfect time to do so. I expect that she will charge a small fortune for tickets where you will have to take out a mortgage to pay for them but I am expecting it and want to make it happen and I am determined to be writing a blog sometime this year on how amazing I thought she was.

Talking of music, apart from Madonna, I am expecting 2015 releases from Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Adele, Kelly Clarkson and Miley Cyrus this year. I am also hoping that Muse will make a comeback to the fold, along with Nero, CHVRCHES, The XX and Little Boots who are like my alternative legends in music. There were a lot of new albums released in the last two to three months that I haven’t really given the time to listen to and so I will be properly checking these out in the next couple of months.

In terms of films, a lot of exciting releases are coming up which I will have to check out. I think the most exciting is Star Wars: Episode VII. I am far from being a sci-fi fan but Star Wars is probably the only sequence of films that I really get in to and with the recent release of the films on blu-ray it has reignited my love for the franchise and can’t wait to see what Star Wars will look like in 2015. Another big film which I am excited about is 50 Shades of Grey. I have to admit I have read the books, mainly because I have been told there is a good storyline behind all of the frolicking, and they were right, there is, and I can’t wait to see what the dimension of film will bring to these books. We can also expect to see Pitch Perfect 2, Jurassic World, Minions and Magic Mike XXL. Bring on the excitement!

Now comes to tech. Apple Watch will be released in the next couple of months but I can tell you I am not excited. I love all things Apple as you know, but the watch is not on my list of things to get. The fact that you have to charge it daily and have it sync with your iPhone constantly to work just does not appeal to me. I think I will wait until the improved second model comes out to consider getting one. Nevertheless, I expect iOS 9 to be released next year which I think will be another big overhaul of the UI. New Apple products are always something that I am watching out for but I think the other big thing to come this year is the domination of 4K TV sets. Much like 3D, there is a lot of hype for billions of pixels to be on your screen. 4K used to be really expensive but prices have dropped significantly and it is rumoured that Sky TV (in the UK, yanks) will be releasing a new set top box that can provide 4K content as well as cloud content which is easily reachable. By this I hope they mean that you can stream from your box to your tablet/phone etc any program that you have recorded, this is the future after all!

So, a lot to look forward to! What are your plans this year? What are you looking forward to? What is the best hangover cure that you are trying this morning? Needless to say, whatever you have planned, I hope you all have a fantastic 2015 and be safe.

Auld Lang Syne!
