Song of the Month – August 2014

Well, it’s that time again when we say goodbye to another month and look forward to the next one and what it has to bring. X Factor is back on our screens and Strictly Come Dancing is coming back soon which means that we are on the countdown to Christmas (as depressing as that sounds). The dark nights are on the way and so we can only expect dreary things to happen, nah not really. Far from it, in fact, the next few months are going to be very exciting for a number of reasons.

Anyway, back on topic. It’s time to post what my #1 most played song of August was. Can you guess what it is yet? No? Well, it was like the biggest hit of the Summer this year it seems. In fact, it was a massive hit all over the world LAST year and has finally reached the UK this summer and made it all the way to #1 in the Official UK Top 40.

Their wikipedia entry says the following…

Nico & Vinz are a Norwegian singing/songwriting duo composed of Nico Sereba and Vincent Dery. They formed in 2009 as Envy and are based in Oslo.[1] They changed their name to Nico & Vinz in January 2014 after the international success of “Am I Wrong

That’s right, “Am I Wrong” by Nico & Vinz is my number 1 most played song throughout August. A massive hit tune that I am sure will always remind me of this summer every time I listen to it going forward. It’s a great uplifting track and is the kind of song that you listen to once and then it just sits there hooked in your brain.

So, let’s look at the stats. “Am I Wrong” was played a total of 73 times throughout August and on the 3rd August it was played the most with a tally of 13 plays.

Looking ahead to September, it’s iTunes Festival month so I imagine I will be watching lots of the live shows via my Apple TV. I am looking forward to seeing Jessie J, David Guetta, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental and of course Kylie Minogue. Lots of things to blog about next month.

Happy September!
