Song of the Month – June 2014

OK, so as you may know… I am a bit of a music fanatic. I use a website called Last.FM to show me what songs I “scrobble”** and to show me on weekly, monthly or yearly frequencies how much I listen to and consume music. You can scrobble near enough anything nowadays. Mainly I scrobble iTunes plays, plays from my iOS devices, Spotify, Youtube, VEVO etc etc.

So each week I can see who my #1 most played artist was, what my #1 most played song was and also nowadays my #1 album. It is very clever. It can also show me my monthly charts as well, which brings me to this post.

Every month going forward, I will share with you what my #1 most played song of each month was so you can get a feel for the kind of music I dig. Sometimes I don’t always agree with the song that gets the most amount of plays as being my favourite song, but it is exciting all the same.

So without further ado, I bring to you my #1 most played song of June. It is one of those songs that I wouldn’t really call my favourite song, but my finger doesn’t press the skip button when it comes on.

Yes, there you have it. Nicole Scherzinger with “Your Love” is my #1 most played song of June. I played it a total of 68 times, with the 21st June being the date I played it the most (13 times). It’s an alright song, I suppose. What do you think of it?

The breakdown of my Top 5 songs last month goes a little like this…

So what will be my #1 most played song of July? I have started playing the new song by Sia, called “Chandelier” a lot recently. I really must check out her album. I wonder if you have any suggestions for me?

** – When Last.fm automatically sends the name of each song played by audio player, they call this “scrobbling.”
